Our Wild Things from "Where the Wild Things Are"Wild Thing

The eldest Wild Thing has been with me for a very long time. He kind of acts as the grandfather figure, especially for the Horned Kids. He had another name once, but... he prefers just going with Wild Thing now. Junior and Little Wild Thing try to help keep order, but usually just end up messing things up.

Kenny from South Park (via Hat Yai)Kenny

Kenny was the first of our kids together and hails from Had Yai, Thailand. Always wanting to be close to the action, it can be dangerous to fall asleep on his shoes. (Not so Goosig[more information] for the shoes.) He really likes Marie's sister Johanna for some reason...

Chuck, and LabanChuck and Laban

Chuck got into a fight once. It was with a [real] dog. We had to sew him up a bit, but he feels tougher now. Laban is his girlfriend. She's a ghost, and also a

More Wild Things - Beuford and the TwinsBeuford and the Beuford Twins

My big sister, Katie, has the eldest Beuford from her childhood. Generally the most timid of the Wild Things, they do like to act tough every so often so you don't forget they are around.  There is a reason why junior is a pair of twins, but we shall not speak of that.

More Wild Things - Max and Little MaxMax and Little Max

Max is the ringleader. He wants to be king of the Wild Things. He thinks he can boss everybody else around, but doesnt' realize that some of the other kids are bigger than him. Junior is no better...

The Last of the Wild Things - The BirdiesBirdie and Little Birdie

The Birdies aren't horned, so that puts them in an odd spot with the other Wild Things sometimes.  Don't get me wrong, they all get along, but sometimes things get divided up between "horned" kids and "hornless" kids.  They are hornless, plain and simple.

The Little Guys - Elkie, Aurora, Elefant, and Padington

Älkie, Aurora, Elefant, and Paddington

Älkie, Aurora, Elefant, and Paddington-- a motley crew if ever there was one. Älkie is actually horned, but his tummy is so cuddly we forget sometimes.  Aurora also is quite cuddly for a hedge hog.  Elefant compensates for his diminuitive size not only by being especially cuddly, but always trying to be the center of attention. The other kids say that he gets sick all the time.

Howard from Dora the ExplorerHoward

Howard is a character from Dora the Explorer.  I don't know what his twin in that show is called, but he is our Howard.  A little mischevious, he always looks out for his friends.

Conrad, Conrad, and LisaConrad, Conrad, and Lisa

Conrad the Bear and Conrad the Duck were both from the Conrad Hotel in Singapore (free gifts, um, I mean free processing of the adoption papers), on the first trip I used a passport. Lisa came to the family much later, but really gives credit to the term flipping dolphin![More Information]

Two different Kiwi BirdsKiwi, and Jons Jon

Our friends from New Zeland are quite characters. Jons Jon is the mascot for the National rugby team, and goes by Kiwi outside the family. Kiwi Bird has a habit of poking people when they sleep.

Pretty Ugly - Ugly Dolls Minimum Wage and Ugly DogUgly Dog, Minimum Wage

When we came back from Sweeden last time, all the kids made a deal with the baggage handlers at United for a one-week stopover at Oktoberfest. We fell in love with Ugly Dog while they were gone, and got the rest of the kids approval to adopt him when they got back. Minimum Wage was a gift shortly after from Katie, and has been a happy addition to the family.  They have been especially supportive while I am sick.

The 7th Street Crew12Al-B, Ruthus

Al-B and Ruthus are the 7th Street Gang.  They were gifts from Al (Marie's old boss), and Ruth (a regular customer).  They like to get in on the action, but tend to be more subdued.
